Rachelle has studied voice and flute with her primary undergraduate studies taken in choral conducting with Dr Neil McEwan. Since graduating in 2003, Rachelle has undertaken conducting master classes with Carl Hgseth ( Norway), John Curro (QYO), Richard Gill (VO), Kenneth Young ( New Zealand ) and Professor Rodney Eichenberger (USA).
In addition to her position with Joubert Singers, Rachelle is currently Musical Director for Nordic Voices and tutors in voice and flute at a number of Sydney schools. She is a passionate advocate for music-making and facilitates massed choir collaborations and choral workshops. Highlights include workshops in Scandinavian folk music at the National Folk Music Festival and founding In Harmony, a singing event celebrating social and cultural diversity.
Previously Rachelle has held positions including Conductor for Rembrandt Male Choir, Coro Marconi, Choral tutor for Inner West Homeschoolers Choir, Musical Director for Inner West Chamber Choir, Nepean Choral Society, Sunrise Choral Society, Director of Music, Australian Youth Choir (Sans Souci), Guest Conductor for Lane Cove Youth Orchestra, All Saints Hunters Hill Parish Choir, and Mid-North Coast Sinfonia.
Engagements in 2009 include Guest Conductor for The Beecroft Orchestra, Artistic Director for Parramatta Community Choir Seniors Week and Artistic Director In Harmony 2009.
