Joubert Singers, established in 1994, is a mixed voice choir whose members share a love of choral music. Joubert Singers take their name from the brothers, Didier and Jules Joubert, who were early French settlers in the district. The Joubert brothers played a significant role in the development of Hunters Hill, building a number of the early houses in the area.
Over the years Joubert Singers have built a loyal audience around the Hunters Hill, Lane Cove and Ryde areas generally presenting three concerts each year and also participating in other choral events such as massed choir performances, workshops and projects with community orchestras.
Their repertoire is expansive, covering traditional through to contemporary Western European choral music, contemporary Australian works and other genres such as gospel and folk.
We are always looking for new singers. There is no audition, but you need to be able to carry a tune and understand music. Sightreading ability is preferred.
